Cherry Blossom Forecast 2009 Sakura Zensen

There are two wonderful and exciting things about February in Japan. First is the Sapporo Snow Festival, and the second is the cherry blossom forecast! The forecast has not been released yet, but usually the first one is released in the middle of, or late February. Check back again as I will post information as soon as I find it is available. Until then, check out some cherry blossom photos from years past!

Here is the latest forecast from Tenki.jp! Looks like things will be a little early this year with Tokyo and Kyoto around March 25th.

    Nice work getting the “placeholder” up Evan. I’ve checked that sakura site everyday for the last 10 days … nothing!

    haha, thanks! Yeah, I have been checking or a while too… and I don’t even live in Japan anymore! So I figured, if I was already looking, so were others. Don’t expect to see anything until the middle of February at the soonest…

    Argh, sorry if I post this twice. I am going to be in China for the month of April, and I wanted to know if you could help me – how long are the cherry blossoms blossoming? Where is a good place and date to see them, if I will be able to go over to Japan during April? I know I might miss out, but any help is appreciated! Arigatou!
